Jil Sander
Jil Sander began selling her designs in Hamburg, Germany and five years later, in 1975, launched the eponymous women's ready-to-wear line unitl today’s iconic handbags and shoes. She rose to fame in the eighties and helped popularize the minimalist aesthetic of the nineties to become the symbol for lux purity. Sander's designs evolved from austere and androgynous to a more feminine aesthetic while still adhering to the minimalist ideal. The unique principals of the brand show prominently in the accessories line with handbags like the signature Jil Bag and women’s shoes that are rich in craftsmanship and quality materials. Recently, the brand has gone through a revival, riding the wave of the more-popular-than-ever legacy of enriched minimalism while adding a splash of color and shine to the original look. Rodolfo Paglialunga has been named creative director who's pedigree reads: women's wear design director at Prada and creative director at Vionnet.
